I started working as a critic for the Danish national paper Det fri Aktuelt in 1991 contributing editorial pieces as well as reviews. I was later attached to Denmark’s leading daily, Politiken, as a theatre and dance critic, and also contributed to the L.A. Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and San Francisco Examiner among others.
Over the years, I have ghostwritten several books, translated Macbeth into English (!), and am the author of Vera Volkova – en dans af uskyld og erfaring (2005) and Erik Bruhn – Billedet indeni (2008), both published by Nyt Nordisk Forlag, Copenhagen. An English edition of the Vera Volkova biography was published by Dancebooks UK in 2007.
Today, I contribute mainly to Kristeligt Dagblad, POV International (DK), Danstidningen (S) and Danceviewtimes (US).
